This food web (https://docs.google.com/a/students.mpsaz.org/file/d/0B7Ofgz3O2zS_dTNKcmh2QkJGOTA/edit) shows the level of consumers, predators, prey, and the transfer of energy in Red Mountain Park. At the highest of the food web and the lowest amount on energy are coyotes, humans, and rattlesnakes. The animals that get the most energy, but are at the bottom of the food we are butterflies, ants, and scorpions. The pattern of energy is simple: when the first level consumers eat the producers, they receive 10% of the energy. When second level consumers eat first level consumers, they receive 10% of the first level consumer's energy. Therefore, the higher the animal is up on the food web, the least amount of energy it receives.
